M. Scott Hill’s extensive career in healthcare leadership spans nearly three decades, marked by a steadfast dedication to patient care and organizational excellence. As the President and CEO of Piedmont Columbus, a Level 2 trauma center, Hill brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at various esteemed institutions, including Columbus Regional Health and HealthSouth Corporation. His leadership philosophy centers on service, collaboration, and trust, which resonates through his interactions with physicians, staff, and board members alike.

A Virginia native, Hill’s journey in healthcare began as a Head Exercise Physiologist, a role that laid the foundation for his patient-first approach. His return to Columbus in 2012 after a 15-year hiatus signified a homecoming to a community he deeply values. His five-year tenure with Piedmont Healthcare has been characterized by significant contributions to the organization’s growth and patient services.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Hill is recognized as an influential speaker, sharing insights on leadership in times of crisis, most notably his firsthand experience in response to the Virginia Tech tragedy. His commitment to community service is evident through his active participation on various boards, including the Georgia Hospital Association and Ronald McDonald House Charities, further exemplifying his dedication to improving healthcare and supporting community initiatives.
