Honoring Legislative Champions for Trauma Care

February 26, 2025, marked an important day for Georgia’s trauma care community—Trauma Awareness Day. Hosted as an advocacy event at the Capitol, the day served as a powerful opportunity to thank lawmakers for their continued support of trauma systems and services across the state.

As part of the day’s breakfast program, Georgia Trauma Foundation honored four outstanding legislators whose leadership has helped shape the future of trauma care in Georgia.

Recognized as Trauma Champions for their unwavering support of trauma-related legislation, Senator Kirkpatrick and Representative Hawkins have played a pivotal role in raising awareness of trauma care and helping to pass resolutions that formally recognize Trauma Awareness Day at the state level.
