Dr. John C. Bleacher’s career is a testament to his dedication to the field of medicine, particularly in pediatric surgery. His academic journey began at Wright State University, where he earned his medical degree, followed by a rigorous training in general surgery at the Pennsylvania State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. His research in fetal wound healing has likely contributed valuable insights into this specialized area of medicine. Further honing his expertise, Dr. Bleacher pursued pediatric surgery at Children’s National Medical Center, a confirmation of his commitment to caring for the younger population. His move to Atlanta marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where he not only practiced but also took on the significant role of Trauma Medical Director. His more than two decades of service in this capacity reflects a profound impact on the institution and the well-being of countless children. Dr. Bleacher’s retirement in April 2022 marks the end of a distinguished career, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and compassionate care in the medical community of Atlanta.

Dr. Bleacher is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Pediatric Surgical Association, and the Pediatric Trauma Society. He is fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Bleacher is a commission member of the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission.
