School Response Program – Stop the Bleed Initiative

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Stop the Bleed – School Response Program is designed to enable school teachers, nurses, and staff how to render immediate, potentially life-saving medical aid to injured students or co-workers while awaiting the arrival of professional responders.

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

  • February 7, 2017 – Trauma professionals from across the state lobbied state law-makers to enable us to provide the Stop the Bleed program in the public school systems across Georgia. (view gallery)

  • The “Ask”- Additional $1M for Georgia Trauma Commission’s budget to support initiative

  • March 23, 2017 – Additional funding approved!

  • 2017-2018 School Year – Trainings begin, coordinated by Regional Trauma Advisory Committees
